Wilson Electronics Introduces Cellular Booster Portability at International CTIA Wireless 2011

by twhite 22. March 2011 07:57
Today we announced at the International CTIA Wireless 2011 show in Orlando, a battery pack accessory that makes two of our most popular boosters truly portable.

The Wilson portable battery pack weighs about 2 ounces when loaded with four standard AAA batteries (about 0.5 ounces on its own). It will operate the Sleek signal booster for two hours of talk time (voice or data), and up to six hours in standby mode. The device, which measures just under 3 inches tall by 2 inches wide, and 0.5 inches thick, will have a suggested retail price of $16.95. It is on display at CTIA booth #4633.

The portable battery pack, available starting in April, combined with the Sleek (2.5 ounces) will provide a fully portable cellular signal boosting solution to remote workers, emergency personnel and recreationists who may need connectivity in weak signal areas while away from a building or vehicle. The battery pack will also power the award-winning MobilePro signal booster, and connects to each device via a USB cord supplied with each product. When connected to the MobilePro, it will give about one hour of talk time, and up to three hours of idle time. "The portable battery pack makes two of our top selling boosters, the Sleek and MobilePro, even more portable," said Laine Matthews, Wilson Electronics director of business development. "Construction workers, Search and Rescue personnel, Wildland Firefighters, cyclists, hikers and others can now have the benefit of these two signal boosters in outdoor locations where there is no other power source available. The battery pack is perfect for these kinds of situations -- when staying connected isn't just a convenience, but a matter of personal safety." Wilson cellular signal boosters work with phones, tablets, data cards, machine-to-machine (M2M) applications as well as cellular-enabled multiple Internet access devices, such as the Mi-Fi, which operate on networks using North American cellular bands.

Wilson Electronics to Feature 4G Cellular Signal Boosters at International CTIA Wireless 2011

by twhite 16. March 2011 13:41

Have you heard the news? We are pleased to announce that this year at the International CTIA Wireless 2011 show, (March 22-24), we will be featuring our line of 4G boosters! This includes our AWS, LTE and WiMAX signal boosters, which will be on display in booth #4633 at the show in Orlando, Fla.

If you are in the area, stop by! We would love to see you at the show. We will be available in booth #4633 in the Orange County Convention Center to answer questions about our signal boosters for mobile, indoor and machine-to-machine (M2M) installations.

“Wilson signal boosters reduce dropped connections and no-service ‘dead zones’ while speeding data transfer rates and enabling connectivity in weak cellular signal areas,” said Laine Matthews, Wilson Electronics director of business development. “Our boosters work with phones, data cards, cellular-enabled tablets and other cellular devices from all manufacturers operating on all North American cellular service provider networks.”

Our most recently announced model, the 4G AWS, which boosts signals on the Advanced Wireless Services (1700/2100 MHz) spectrum band, is scheduled to ship May 1, 2011. This 4G booster is designed for indoor installation and is expected to have a suggested retail price of about $399.00. LTE and WiMAX signal boosters are expected to be available June 2011.

The 4G AWS will improve connection quality and increase data transfer speeds in weak signal areas. The 4G AWS will also provide connectivity for customers of rural wireless carriers that use the AWS band for fixed broadband service.

Our Latest Product – The Wilson Electronics Sleek

by twhite 10. March 2011 08:57

As you may have heard from reviewers like CNET and Engadget, early last year, we came out with our most exciting product yet, The Sleek.  The Sleek is true to its name, in that it is Wilson’s most compact, and “sleek” cell phone signal booster ever.

The Sleek is a universal plug-and-play cell phone cradle booster with an external vehicular antenna.  It increases any phone’s output power to the cell site, while improving its ability to hear signals it normally cannot.  In short, the Sleek keeps you more connected while on the go.  It’s like having your own personal cell phone tower.

Check out this video below to learn more about the Sleek:

Anyone have any experiences with the Sleek? How do you like it?
