Wilson Electronics Honored for Product Excellence in the M2M Market

by twhite 2. February 2012 13:16

Compass Intelligence and NE2NE.com honored Wilson Electronics manufacturer of North America’s top-selling line of cellular signal boosters and antennas, with an award for product excellence in the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications market.

Wilson was named winner of the A-List in M2M Award in the Antenna and Signal Amplification category. The company’s products boost signal strength in areas of weak cellular signal in fixed or mobile applications, including rural locations and inside concrete and metal structures where building materials can block signals.

NE2NE's inaugural A-List in M2M Awards recognizes the top vendors in the M2M market. The A-List in M2M honors organizations at the pinnacle of the M2M world, and includes companies that offer the best M2M products, services, and service enablement solutions in the industry.

“An unreliable signal can be the weak link in the chain for companies that rely on the cellular network for M2M communications,” said Brian Allred, Wilson Senior Account Manager, M2M. “Acquiring and maintaining a reliable signal is critical to the timely delivery of remotely collected data, and that’s what Wilson helps M2M customers with. We’re honored to be on the A-List in M2M along with some of the biggest names in the M2M market.”

Wilson’s award winning products are on display today and tomorrow in Miami at the IT Expo, booth #224. For the complete list of A-List in M2M honorees visit http://ne2ne.com/awardees.php?value=all.

Award recipients were evaluated, interviewed and vetted by the Compass Intelligence Mobile & Wireless analyst team. Next, a panel of independent experts including editors, analysts, and consultants voted via an online ballot. The criteria used in evaluating 2012 A-List in M2M entries include vision, strategy, leadership and governance, organizational structure and alignment, key customers, partnerships, processes, openness, operational and financial metrics and other qualitative factors.

Wilson Electronics Introduces 4G LTE Indoor Signal Booster at CEDIA Expo 2011

by twhite 8. September 2011 08:03

ST. GEORGE, Utah, Sep 08, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Wilson Electronics ( www.WilsonElectronics.com ), manufacturer of North America's top-selling line of cellular signal boosters, announced the availability of the company's 4G LTE 700 signal booster, built to improve the performance of any LTE device operating on Verizon Wireless'(TM) 700 MHz 4G network. The signal booster is on display at CEDIA Expo 2011, booth #437 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

With a suggested retail price of $359.95, the Wilson 4G LTE 700 is the most affordable consumer 4G booster available. And unlike other 4G boosters on the market, Wilson's feature very fast automatic oscillation sensing technology and auto-shutdown, as well as cell tower proximity detection and auto-shutdown, in addition to other cell site protection safeguards. These features make it the safest consumer 4G signal booster available.

It also features the highest signal gain for a consumer booster at 70 dB--for maximum coverage area indoors. The results are reliable connections where before there was weak signal or no signal, and faster data transfer speeds.

"Wilson is now providing for users of Verizon 4G devices the same signal boosting benefits that our customers on 3G networks have enjoyed," said Joe Banos, Wilson Electronics COO. "This booster will bring Verizon's 4G signal to those experiencing weak or blocked signal indoors."

The 4G LTE 700 features separate adjustable gain controls - one for the uplink (device-to-tower communication), and another for the downlink (tower-to-device communication). These gain controls allow the unit's gain, or signal amplification level, to be optimized for its specific location. This also simplifies the installation process by allowing for more flexibility in the correct placement of the booster's interior and exterior antennas.

Wilson Electronics Cellular Signal Boosters Help Rural Residents and Businesses Stay Connected

by twhite 13. June 2011 09:04
As many of you already know, our boosters (like the Wilson Sleek) are vital in helping out all those folks and businesses located in rural areas. Without our boosters, many could not perform even the simplest tasks (like making a phone call!) in their home, office, etc. Check out the excerpt below from our press release that explains more about how Wilson boosters help rural residents and businesses stay connected--

"Workers at remote job sites and country dwellers who choose to live far outside population centers are increasingly using signal boosters from Wilson Electronics, manufacturer of North America’s top-selling line of cellular signal boosters, to overcome frustration caused by unreliable cellular signals.

Recently, consultants at a geological test site in the rugged American Southwest and a family in rural upstate New York have deployed Wilson signal boosters as a solution for weak signals that hindered voice and data communication.

Softrock Geological Services, a consulting firm in Durango, Colo., was contracted to do geological testing for an energy project in the remote San Juan Basin of the Four Corners area of the southwestern U.S. The test site crew’s distance from the nearest cell tower in combination with natural terrain obstacles made communication with the outside world difficult."

Wilson Electronics Issues Statement on the FCC’s Issuance of an NPRM in Regards to Cell Phone Signal Boosters

by twhite 7. April 2011 09:50
Below is an excerpt from an official statement we made earlier today regarding the FCC's issuance of an NPRM. Feel free to share your thoughts with us in this matter, by leaving a comment with us in the section below.

“Wilson Electronics commends the FCC and its Commissioners for its issuance of a Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM), which will gather industry suggestions as to what specifications cellular signal boosters should meet in order to obtain FCC certification. Today's action ensures that cellular signal boosters can continue to benefit consumers in underserved areas and help public safety officials in their jobs.

“We are pleased the FCC agrees that new standards for signal boosters are needed. We are hopeful that as the rulemaking process proceeds, the Commission will adopt the standards proposed by Wilson in 2009 to protect consumers from poorly designed boosters that can interfere with cellular service and damage service provider networks.

Wilson Electronics Introduces Cellular Booster Portability at International CTIA Wireless 2011

by twhite 22. March 2011 07:57
Today we announced at the International CTIA Wireless 2011 show in Orlando, a battery pack accessory that makes two of our most popular boosters truly portable.

The Wilson portable battery pack weighs about 2 ounces when loaded with four standard AAA batteries (about 0.5 ounces on its own). It will operate the Sleek signal booster for two hours of talk time (voice or data), and up to six hours in standby mode. The device, which measures just under 3 inches tall by 2 inches wide, and 0.5 inches thick, will have a suggested retail price of $16.95. It is on display at CTIA booth #4633.

The portable battery pack, available starting in April, combined with the Sleek (2.5 ounces) will provide a fully portable cellular signal boosting solution to remote workers, emergency personnel and recreationists who may need connectivity in weak signal areas while away from a building or vehicle. The battery pack will also power the award-winning MobilePro signal booster, and connects to each device via a USB cord supplied with each product. When connected to the MobilePro, it will give about one hour of talk time, and up to three hours of idle time. "The portable battery pack makes two of our top selling boosters, the Sleek and MobilePro, even more portable," said Laine Matthews, Wilson Electronics director of business development. "Construction workers, Search and Rescue personnel, Wildland Firefighters, cyclists, hikers and others can now have the benefit of these two signal boosters in outdoor locations where there is no other power source available. The battery pack is perfect for these kinds of situations -- when staying connected isn't just a convenience, but a matter of personal safety." Wilson cellular signal boosters work with phones, tablets, data cards, machine-to-machine (M2M) applications as well as cellular-enabled multiple Internet access devices, such as the Mi-Fi, which operate on networks using North American cellular bands.
